ENTRY REQUIREMENTS TO CYPRUS AND RETURN TO THE UK

The UK Government has confirmed that international travel is now legal. However, there are some conditions in place for people to enter Cyprus and also to return to the UK.

Cyprus entry requirements

  • Fill out a passenger locator form before you travel

  • Each passenger must complete an online overseas locator form before you depart which is called the Cyprus flight pass. On successful completion of your application, you will receive a report including your Cyprus flight pass and all relevant information which you will be asked to present prior to boarding and on arrival at immigration. You need to upload proof of your vaccination status or test results to your Cyprus Flight Pass before you travel Cyprus Flight Pass - Application Process

  • Provide proof of full vaccination or take a COVID-19 test before you depart and on arrival

  • All passengers, except children under 12 will have to either:

    Fully vaccinated: Provide proof of full vaccination at least 14 days prior to arrival into Cyprus. An NHS COVID Pass shows your COVID-19 vaccination details and will be accepted.

    Please note, your business card-sized paper COVID-19 vaccination record card isn’t an acceptable form of vaccine status proof  and can’t be used to enter.

    Not fully vaccinated: If you are not fully vaccinated you are required to have a PCR COVID-19 test before you depart and on arrival. The test prior to departure must be taken within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival time into Cyprus and you must upload the results to your Cyprus Flight Pass. On arrival at Cyprus airport, you will have to take another PCR test at your cost and self-isolate until you get the result.

    UK entry requirements

    All passengers must complete the UK passenger locator form within 48 hours of your flight back to the UK.

    All passengers entering England will have to either:

    Fully vaccinated: Provide proof that you have been fully vaccinated (at least 14 days prior to travel). NHS COVID Pass will be accepted.

    Following the latest UK government announcement if you are fully vaccinated and are travelling back to England after 4th October 2021, you are no longer required to take a Covid-19 pre departure test in order to return back to England.

    NOT fully vaccinated: If you are not fully vaccinated, you will have to self-isolate for 10 days at your home or the place you are staying which is detailed on your UK passenger locator form. You are able to end self-isolation early if you pay for a COVID-19 test through the Test to Release scheme.

    Everyone 18 years and over and not fully vaccinated*, you must take a COVID-19 test at some point in the three days before flying to the UK and provide a negative result before boarding. This can be a PCR, LAMP or rapid antigen test (RAT), also known as lateral flow, but it can’t be one of the free NHS tests.

    You and all of your party, except children aged four and under, will have to take a COVID-19 PCR test on or before day two of your arrival into the UK.

    You also need to book a day eight test If you’re aged 18 and over and haven’t been fully vaccinated. To be “fully vaccinated” you must’ve had your final dose of an approved vaccine under the UK, EU or US vaccination programme at least 14 days before you’re due to arrive in the UK.

    Please note, you’ll need to book the test(s) before you return to the UK to be able to complete your UK passenger locator form.

    before you depart as requirements can change, and you may be refused travel if you don’t take the appropriate steps.

    And don’t forget that if you or any of your party are showing symptoms of Covid-19, you’ll not be able to travel. It’s really important that you stay at home and follow NHS guidelines to keep yourself, your family and others safe.

    YOUR JOURNEY CHECKLIST

    We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Cyprus on your Biblio Travel holiday, and your safety is of paramount importance to us. We have detailed below a checklist to ensure you have an easy, smooth journey, and can get on your way to enjoy your well-earned holiday.

    ENSURE YOU HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

    We cannot stress enough how important it is take-out comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to cover you for all eventualities, so please do make sure you have adequate insurance ensuring the policy covers any activities and sports that you may want to participate in while you are away.

    CHECK IN ONLINE FOR YOUR FLIGHT

    Online check-in opens 24 hours before your outbound flight (departing from the UK) and is available right up until three hours before take-off.

    You can check in 24 hours before your return flight, too.

    HOW TO ADD FLIGHT EXTRAS

    To add flight extras such as extra baggage or pre-booked seats please log into Manage my booking on the Biblio Travel website and book all your extras.

    HOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I TAKE?

    CHECKED IN LUGGAGE – 23KG PER PERSON

    When flying with Biblio Travel and Condor Airlines you’re entitled to a 23kg luggage allowance on our absolute package holidays. This is for you and each member of your party, adults and children (excluding infants who have a hold allowance of 10kg). With this generous allowance you can certainly pack some of your luxuries.

    HAND FLIGHT LUGGAGE - PACK SMART

    At Biblio we know hand luggage is important to you. On Condor Airways you can take 1 piece of hand luggage per person (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg and with maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm on a Condor Airways flight. Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your 1 piece of hand luggage. You must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself so please do pack as light as you can, as our crew won’t be able to help you. You can bring a children’s case as hand luggage, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg.

    GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME AT THE ARIPORT

    Social distancing measures could mean that it takes longer to get through airport security checks and board the aircraft, so please leave plenty of time.

    Security checks, a few hints and tips to help you get you through as quickly as possible;

    • Be prepared for bag checks and potentially more x-ray checks than usual.

    • Ensure that any larger electrical items, iPads and headphones are separated from the rest of your hand luggage in a separate tray

    • Remember to keep liquids to 100ml or under, to place them in the clear bag (remember only one bag per passenger) and to keep them easily to hand to be placed in a separate tray before screening.

    • Try to travel in easy to take off shoes, just in case you are asked to remove them and place them in a tray for x-ray.

    • Expect airport security staff to be using personal protective equipment (PPE). Please be patient if they need to change gloves or other disposable items.

    YOUR JOURNEY THROUGH THE AIRPORT

    Our Airport partners have been working hard to ensure you have the confidence to travel safely through the airports and new measures have been put in place during the pandemic.

    • You will see a lot more regular cleaning procedures and sanitiser stations

    • Clear social distancing measures in place with the seating and how you move around the airport, in-line with COVID guidelines

    • You might be asked for a temperature check

    • Check-in desks fitted with a protective screen

    • Touch-free boarding at the gate. You will be asked to show your own passport at the correct page along with boarding pass, you’ll then be asked to lift your mask to confirm your ID, and you will scan your own boarding pass

    • Boarding may be slower as you will be in smaller groups, so please bear with us to get you on board safely.

    YOUR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE

    Our chosen airline is Condor Airways who are rated for its exemplary service and on time departures. Flying on the Boeing 757 which is new aircraft and designed with HEPA filters similar to those that are used in surgical theatre, plus the aircraft is professionally sanitised with disinfectant each day – giving you peace of mind.

    In-Flight meals and drinks can be pre-purchased through Manage my booking or during the 24hr check in or a slightly limited range can be purchased on board on the day.

    Please note that due to Covid restrictions only CASHLESS payments can be taken on board.

    YOUR IN-RESORT HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE

    Your time in Cyprus will be second to none, with our experienced friendly in-resort team there to look after you all the way – we will ensure you have a holiday to remember.

    You will be met by the Biblio team at the airport at a safe distance, who will give you a very warm welcome to Cyprus, you will be asked your name, then guided to your coach transfer or private transfer dependent on which you have opted for. We have also increased our hygiene measures on our transfer coaches and are making more coaches available to help with social distancing.

    The transfer will take you to your accommodation where you will check in. Guest Services at your accommodation will walk you through their COVID-19 policy and safety measures as this will vary by property.

    We will take care of all the arrangements for you to make this a seamless experience.

    YOUR ACCOMODATION EXPERIENCE

    The highest possible hygiene standards are in place with all our accommodation partners and the experience may be a slightly different prior to COVID-19 as the accommodations adapt to local regulations, to ensure your safety comes first.

    • Hotel staff may be wearing protective clothing, and you’ll be asked to wear your mask in communal areas

    • Extra deep-cleaning procedures will be in place and you might spot hand sanitisers around the property, please do take advantage of them.

    • Social distance measure will be in place around the properties bars, restaurants, sunbeds, corridors, central areas and property facilities.

    • Allocated time slots for meals and use of facilities may be in place to help control the flow of guests to ensure social distancing is adhered too.

    • Accommodation facilities and activities being open will vary by property, however our accommodation partners are working hard to keep everything open, however your safety comes first

    • Your room will see extra cleaning and some room facilities may be removed to increase your safety. You also may be asked when is the best time for the room to cleaned so guest and cleaning staff are not in the room at the same time.

    OUR FACEMASK POLICY

    Everyone over the age of six needs to wear a face mask at the airport, on the flight, transfers to the airport, individual requirements in the accommodation (advised locally) and in resort dependent on local law. You must wear a face mask, pretty much across your journey to Cyprus and possibly within parts of your accommodation and resort.

    During your flight you must be wearing your face mask. You can only take off your mask when you are asked to remove it for ID at the boarding gate and to eat and drink. But please be respectful and put it straight back on when you’ve finished.

    If you are unable to wear a mask for health reasons and your exempt, please do let us know in advance by calling our Special Assistance team on 0800 707 4048

    Please bring your own medical-style mask (reusable/disposable) - coverings such as scarves, snoods, balaclavas or similar are not allowed, and make sure you have enough to allow you to change your mask every four hours.

    If you fail to wear a face mask, you’ll be breaking the law and could be fined or denied boarding.

    SHOULD I BRING HAND SANITISER?

    There will be plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers in the airport terminal, and we will provide sachets on board for use ahead of eating and drinking. However, we’d recommend you have some handy, too. Remember, liquids in your hand luggage must be 100ml or under.

    PAYMENT – BETTER TO GO CONTACTLESS

    During COVID-19 it is better if you can use contactless payment wherever you can. On-board the aircraft Condor airlines will only accept a card payment and it makes sense to try and use cash less during your holiday. Therefore, we would recommend you make sure your cards can be used abroad, prior to departure and use contactless wherever possible.


    However, please do continue to bring a small amount of cash, too, just in case.
